(Insert boring introduction here)
First, the canister:
Kopaka comes back in style with a new canister style that consists of a normal canister with removable web like protrusions. The canister itself is clear, which is always a plus for some reason. Ultimately, it's quite nice aesthetically, but not so functionally. Also, interestingly, BIONICLE is not on the front of the box in large letter as it usually is.
(Sidenote: I do worry that some parents will refuse to buy the sets for their children due to the back of the box [Which illustrates Solek being attached to Kopaka]. Some parents may think this is something totally different than what it is.)
Pieces:
There are only a few new pieces in this set, but there are a good bit of old ones in new colours.
New Pieces:
Kopaka's Mask
Midak Skyblaster
Ice Bayonet
Wings
The eye piece
By the way, Kopaka's mask is own.
The Set itself:
First off, Kopaka's wings are so freaking awesome. They make for some great poses.
Next, the design itself. Kopaka is little bit too thin in the limbs. However, it's only a minor con. The real problem is the lack of a real weapon (Though you could just deattach the bayonet and use it as a knife instead, which I'm sure many people have already done). It would be nice if he at least had a shield.
The mask design is nice throwback to the original Akaku, with its multiple scopes. I personally think the laser beam in Kopaka's eyes scope is a nice touch, but that's just me.
The Midak Skyblaster is what the Zamor launcher always should have been. I can honestly see it being used a whole lot in vehicular MOCs. It would be kind of awesome if someone would make a LEGO model of 17th century ship and used the Midak's as cannons.
Also, as a pleasant surprise, the joints are quite stiff, unlike most Bionicle models from the previous couple of years.
Playability:
The real playability for Kopaka comes out of posing him and becoming proficient at shooting the Midak. Also, the bayonet is pretty fun to mess around with (Antroz got shanked in the back a few times ).
Rating
I'd give Kopaka a 7 out of ten.
Pros:
-Good, stiff joints
-Great Mask
-Midak Skyblaster
-Wings
-Poseability
Cons:
-Lack of a real weapon other than the Midak.
-Limb Lankiness.
