Setting an rpg loosly based on the D&D rule set.
I say loosly be Zaki is at work on simplfing the rules for ease of use in the forums, and the adventures our players will be participating on.
Simplfied rules:
Players choose their actions per the norm (search for traps, pick the lock etc) however Dm rolls for all actions, npc and player.
The dm will post the The outcome of the roll with any modifers and penalties already added in.
Ex. Zaki chooses to have her character talk her way past a guard and into the V.i.p. section of the tavern.
She notifies the dm of her choice. He rolls for zaki and gets 13
To 2 for her charisma 15
Critical hit-Natural roll of 20 when rolling to see if your attack hits.
represents that the attacking player managed to find a chink in his oppents armour, or a fault in their stance to exploit and took
advantage of it.
At the Dm's descrestion, He may reward the roll with furthur detail
of how the character whos acton it was rolled for far surpassed his normal level of combat skill and the crippling blow he deals to the enemy, or the weakness in the oppents armour exploits to gain the upper hand. (basically an excuse to reward players with storytelling, most likely ending with a coup de grace on an oppent, depening on the outcome of the following roll)

Critical Roll- natural 20 rolled for on a non combat
Pretty much the same as the crtical hit but for non combat,
your character far surpasses the task he is trying to accomplish.
Botch - Natural role
Health system (work in progress)
Spell system (work in progress)
to submit a race you want to that isn't listed send a pm of
race name, a breif description (what they look like, culture etc)
and an atempt to makje a rule set for that race will be made.
Leveling system (work in progress)
class/job (work in progress)
Note: May do a branching job tree with cjaracters having the choice to "advance" to a stronger class

ex: Recruite - Soilder- Swordsman
