Takanuva jumped at Icarax, his spear defected by the spinning shadow sword. The blows kept coming between them. One moment Icarax looked to be losing, next moment he knocks Takanuva off balance.
The battle moves off the small platform and onto the swampy ground. soft underfoot, both warriors having difficulty keeping balance. The Matoran already on the swamp move to the edge to avoid the skirmish.
To the side, on “the great steps” that cover the western edge, the other Makuta cheer Icarax on, giving advice and tactics.
Across on the eastern fringe, Pohatu Nuva and Jaller Mahri also shout encouragement to the battle gripped toa. Kopaka Nuva was on listening duty tonight, and was focused solely on his task.
Suddenly Takanuva lost his balance, falling backwards. Icarax bounds forward, ready to the strike, when a small blast hits him on his head. He looks round to see Mazeka had fired at him. Poor Mazeka was on the very top of the great steps, and had been stuck there for days.
Icarax’s distraction was just what Takanuva needed. Leaping upwards, he used his feet to knock the dark red makuta off the swampy land, and onto the hard ground below.
Takanuva jumped after him. Again the trading of blows began. At one point Icarax almost knocked the Toa under the swampy land. It is a dangerous and dark area, and it is believed that the remains of the bahrag twins are under there somewhere. None go there by choice.
Suddenly Kopaka Nuva gives a shout “Foot-steps! Places everyone!”
As Takanuva and Icarax scramble back to their previous positions, the Makuta whispers “Next time, Toa”.

Epilogue - Ben’s mum picked up the small silver ball from the floor. She really wished he wouldn’t leave them lying around, someone is bound to trip on them one day. She put the washing away in his wardrobe, and moved Ben’s bionicles off the bed.
She takes his new one “mazeka” down off the top shelf. It had been put up there last week as punishment for Ben's rudeness at the dinner table.
As she leaves Ben’s bedroom, there is a moments silence before Kopaka gives the “All Clear”.
