Only people ages 13 and older can be on the forums.
This topic is basically pointless since most of the rules aren't enforced.

It is a good rule. I am now thirteen. My program is the original 9000 program, makeing me effectivly 13 years old.

You know, I dont think I ever gave the 13 plus rule a thought when we migrated over, does anyone recall if it's a proboards requirement? I know there is a law based around the internet and being 13. The workaround to this rule on the old foums where it was specificaly stated in those rules was either to lie about your age, have your parents make the account for you (This was allowed), or to lie about having your parents consent and awareness to your being on the site.
If you were under the age of thirteen this was usually obvious, and if you were able to not get caught you were usually mature enough to protect yourself from child predators, though this is not neccesarily true for all cases. There was no way to know for sure when your lieing about your parents consent, so usually when it came up I would tell the members about internet saftey stuff when I was asked about it.
*NEVER give out your address or school, and be aware that predators can use the internet to find you if you give them the right information: you can say your state in one topic, and your school in another, and a hobby in another. He could use the state and school alone to find you, and then your hobby to check afterschool classes or times when he might kidnap you. Never trust anyone trying to meet you in person, and be aware that the internet gives predators the resources the need, fake photos or photos of someone else for one thing that they could claim is them to mislead you.
*Do not trust vans with "free candy" spraypainted on the side either.
