Well, as you noticed I am a sudden big fan of the movie I Am Legend (Please go see the movie cause it's awesome, or read what happened somewhere to get the full mood of what could happen in this RPG), I thought of a really awesome RPG. ... And I'm sure most of you are already getting my drift. Anyway for the plot, (and notice this is all drafty) some Balancers can travel/see into the future. Once Balancer [Aegis] saw an apocalyptical future but was alternative than what really happened. (That will be explained later in the RPG, Apocalypse) Anyway, that future was well...everyone died. From my ideas it would either be through some experimentation meant to do good, Legions took over finally, or something of the following or even mixed up. No humans will be in this, but as you can see the Bionicle world is seemingly coming to an end, most are dead, and mutated into some legion, zombie…something else? But as you get the point it’s come to a very dark end. The only survives will most likely will be us, who will play the RPG who are desperate to find a way to save the universe. Aegis pointed out instead of us all being Toa or whatever, to be different species and then forced to work together (Brotherhood of Makuta, Toa, Matoran, etc). Also it would be best if we played completely NEW characters. ...So, who likes? I just thought of this idea yesterday or so but I think this could be very promising, please post suggestions, ideas, or whatever else. I’m not sure about you but I really would love to do this RPG, it’s a new and fresh idea but still familiar enough for veterans.

I look forward to making the awful good paladinesque toa being forced to work with the philosophically neutral Balancer.
I still don't want to "kill" the godlike characters in it though, maybe drain them of all their power and imprison them or something.

It sounds like a great idea KL. The whole theme in general is epic and I would love to play. I'd like it if there were headcrabs.

Or simply not have them in there at all. Just don't mention them or whatev.
Can I claim the character that is basically our Will Smith? =3

xD
I was kidding kind of, I meant more like the character he played on I Am Legend.
But enough of characters, we need to orginize the plot and stuff first.

OK SO HERES THE DEAL RIGHT GUYS ARE YOU LISTENING BECAUSE I'M NOT GONNA REPEAT MYSELF
So the majority of life in the universe has been eradicated, and at least at the start of the game nobody surviving has much idea what happened for whatever reason, or what they do think they "know" conflicts with what others "know". These characters, of various races (for the purposes of the RPG Bionicle only with exceptions only on super special request) and of various alliances, such as the Order of Mata Nui or the Balancers and such, allied by their need for survival. They aim to either find a way to revert what has been done or to send a message back through time of what happened, to give some other being the desire to save their world. I can't think of an organisation that wouldn't want this, as even the BoM needs the world to exist to manipulate it...
Well I can, the Balancers wouldn't, in theory, actually care as a group (though the individuals probably would).
The actual cause of the war, and this is pretty much strictly OOC knowledge, is a combination of war, disease, plague and other factors; all started by the (now imprisoned and powerless) godlike beings, such as Mata Nui, the Great Beings, and such.
LOL IDK

Balancers want a balance, but not to that extreme, in fact thats like the opposite of chaos...it's just nothing, cause everyone is dead?
I disagree about the part about the powerful beings caused this. I think it would be better if it really was just a combination of lesser power doing it, but then again the idea is to start out with various theories of how the problem started from different characters.

Mmmmh well it doesn't really matter. I mean when that piece of knowledge is needed one of us can come up with the "truth" when it's needed.

Well isn't balance the opposite to Chaos and Law and Order? Nothing could be considered overly ordered, or overly chaotic and thus being the opposite of Balance, so in this way the balancers would want to keep everything from being destroyed.

I suppose nothingness has its order too. It doesn't have to be the mortal concept of order.

But nothing is nothing, there is no order or chaos....gah balance is confusing. XD
Also, I want zombies guys, really bad. Or atleast the zombies like the Dark Seekers from I Am Legend, they were adrenaline pumped and creepy; though I presume the zombies in this universe would be from the legions or some virus.

BTW: Good Plot, seriously
Anyway do all players have to be survivors, because I would really like to take a crack at playing a Mutated Hybrid sane Legionite Toa creature thing, seeing i'm usully playing someone on the side of 'good'.

There are seriously no good or bad characters in this, everyone wants to save the universe as far as I can tell. Unless you're just an idiot.
Also if legion are used in this, I don't want them to be the main cause of what really happened. Cause Legion are getting overused. I'd say they got a chance and made whoever survived into zombies and thats about it.

One flaw with the whole concept though: When you make opposing sides work together, they are still going to oppose one another, in at least one way. May I also bring up something else? Even if all of the sides worked together, you're forgetting that it will result in chaos in the end in one way or another. Then again, I'm guessing that's your idea, eh? -Gakurak

They're going to oppose eachother and therefore it'll be fun as they're forced to work together for their own survival.
I don't see what you mean on the second point >>

You've got Toa, Matoran, BoM members, OoMN members, Dark Hunters, etc. being forced to band together to attempt to save the world from being completely wiped out. They'll never see eyetoeye, but that's what makes it interesting: the conflict.

That’s the whole reason we wanted to do that Gak, there is conflict and good character development when we do that, but it won’t result (probably) to the extreme of us murdering each other since all the characters should be smart enough to know they are probably the last survivors and they have to work together. So they will all have different views, but in the end they will be working together.
How it ends? I'd like to see how that will happen when we actually get there, planning the end for RPGs are no fun.
I’ll start planning on the RPG, but I’m flying up to Missouri [USA] tomorrow morning and won’t get much internet access probably, I’ll be back on the 18th I believe though.
But that gives you guys plenty of time to plan out your characters or to shoot out other ideas; remember though, when creating a character we need not have…lets say, for an example…5 Dark Hunters, 4 Toa and one BoM. We need to have a balance so we have more conflict between characters going around. I’m not saying we can’t have more than one certain faction, but I hope you get my point.

People who haven't seen the movie really do not have to worry. The only similarities right now is that everyone is dead or either zombies, lol.
But still, if you saw the movie you'd probably get the point clearer or how this RPG might be played. The whole genre of this is going to probably be suspense/horror. But overall, don’t worry.

I have to admit, I'm a big fan of the whole suspense/Zombies(especially zombies)/horror thing. However, I think it would be much more fun if it were two small factions fighting to survive against the world, while still being enemies. In my opinion: the more factions, the more fun.

The Brotherhood of Makuta survivors are without doubt still trying to work together and being stubborn, going their own way. But I don't think there should be any two factions with players [us] at all. Unless we split up we'd need to regroup, cause playing in different places for too long gets confusing.

Or maybe some stay together and others stop being stubborn? Ex-Makutas happen.
