Welcome to the Chronicles of the Destiny Islands.
Here I will set the ground rules and discuss them with you while we work together to build this rpg. Each sub board in this section will represent an island/continent and its neighboring waters. Since each island has different properties, we will need to have a "Customs Center" for each island to declare what species, elements and such are not compatible, and key differences on the islands and their governing forces that might be troublesome that the adventurers not new when they arrived. We must also discuss universal rules for each island and have the different player templates be compatible on as many islands as possible.
"Myself To be King Of The Awesome and Theoretical Island" Ground Rules
First off, this island is the main community RPG that EVERYONE, so long as they fallow the rules may add on to. Here are the rules so we can start building already.
*Each topic represents a place or a function, or otherwise some clever idea you might think of for using a topic other than what I have listed.
*The first post in a topic represents the area itself, and each area should always have the links and places you can go to listed here, and listed clearly, don't make the links vague or link them to outside memes and the likes of RickRolling. Unless the topic has good reason for it, the very top of the post should have a link that takes you back to the previous areas and the link must be between two *of these* . other links should be under the flavor text below the phrase "Travel options". Ive centered mine for the area I created to make it easily spotted.
*Give topics flavor text, a description of the area, and any items of interest.
*Keep things realistic, you cant make stuff like "The Throne Room Of the Mighty Thogar, Ruler of Awesome and theoretical blah blah" that otherwise declares your character ruler of the island or a particularly major character, but you are allowed to make yourself a multi topic home to "live" in on this island. Just don't make it so grand that you have every last sort of chamber to accommodate your needs, if we don't make a rule about this, try to keep it simple but give yourself one or two attractions for your guests like a workshop or mini protodermis refinery, maybe even a smelter?
*When making a multi topic add on, let people know your working on it and if they can currently add onto your section, or if you want or require it to be a dead end area and no add ons once your done. Always be courteous and fallow people's wishes about adding on to their areas, but try to have the entry into your area link to two other places. Be sure to look out for posts asking you to link an area so you can add it into the first post of that topic that represents the area.
*To help organize the section, Ive set it to list by subject name, create and place letter/number codes like "A7" before the area's(subjects) name to link all of your topics representing a particular area together on the topics list for the island. You may want to get together every now and then and organize close by areas together, for example if you guys build a stone wahi, all stone wahi areas might start with O and each set of topics in that area gets its own number, for example a mine might have the fallowing subject names:
*We might consider starting the island by each of us "landing" someplace on the island and "exploring/creating" it as we meet up with each other. Remember, the first post in your topics represent the area, don't use the first post to show what your in game character is doing
*While we wait for more universal rules to be created for each island, use these three basic things to perform your actions:
"Say" Speaking aloud should be put "between these marks"
*Do* Write your actions *between these marks*
=Narrate= place narration =between these marks= to narrate things that happen or what your character is doing, thinking, or what mannerisms he is using assuming it isn't or cannot be described during "speech/say"
<< team>> Write actions that you allow other members to fallow through with by placing it <<between these marks>>, specifically, if you use an elemental power action between these marks you can allow a member to add their power to your own for a combo. use >> to offer, and << to accept. example below.
You may also >Offer your action to multiple people, or everyone by adding>This guys name>the other guys name>and the last guys name>nobody specific/anyone>
If someone fallows through and <accepts, the guy who adds on has to chain the opening to<>the next guy by using the send/offer marks with >anyone else's name> or saying anyone>
*When your playing with others leave them openings to do stuff, by not doing everything at once. This adds to the fun, think of it as an add on/strategy game. Try to only use One <<team>> "Say" =Narrate= or *Do* per each post representing your character's actions.
*It would be a good idea to use the RPG assistant forum to store all your characters for the RPG in a readily available place for everyone to look up your chraracter stuffs on the fly. You might connsider posting a link to you UCT in your signature too.
