*still wishes the Nynrah Shield/Laser Sight/Battering Ram was compatible with the Midak Skyblaster* And I still regret his mask, as well as (to a lesser extent) all the Mistika masks. But that doesn't make the set any less awesome. Great review.

Actually I just pulled out a Midak to test that, the Midak may not fit on the nynrah shield as is, but with the right parts the shild has enough places to attach the midak. It wont neccesarily be a perfect fit but it will still work.

I got Onua (along with all the other mistika except for vultraz, who should be here tomorrow, axalara and mazeka) today, and I absolutly love the set. Hes a really good set in my opinion and should be the first one you get.
I did notice how his mask resembles the Kanohi of shadows.
Also, to the masks, I think they mostly resemble the original mata masks, if you look at them the right way you may see it.

Onua's mask to me only really resembles the mask from the movie. Though I guess it sort of has the same angular style as the Movie Edition masks from Takutanuva and Ultimate Dume.
Also, yes, I agree that they sort of resemble the Mata masks. Of course, it doesn't help me in my drawings, since they're supposed to be the Nuva masks, so really it's just a nice throwback to old times.

It's just a sort of subtle vibe they give off. As others have pointed out, it greatly depends on power of association, since we know what masks/characters they're supposed to resemble, but there are still similarities that are greatly evident. Tahu Mistika's forehead has the same two pockets as are on the forehead of the Hau Nuva, while Gali Mistika's mouth section bears a slight resemblance in shape to the Kaukau Nuva's, even though the new mask lacks an upper boundary for its mouth section.

Nice.
What I ment by the mistika Masks resembling their original masks, i ment the Mata masks. Onuas is kinda hard (the shape not face itself, mistika from front to back and the mata being bottom to top.) Pohatus looks like the original Kakama minus the top part, etc etc.
I still say Onuas my favorite Mistika (though I havent played with any of the mistika much and ive had them like a week or two)

Pohatus looks like the original Kakama minus the top part, etc etc. I still say Onuas my favorite Mistika (though I havent played with any of the mistika much and ive had them like a week or two) I feel Pohatu's looks more like the Kakama Nuva minus the top part than like the original Kakama. Look at it and you'll see the "holes" are in the same places. Even the mouth/nose area is similar. Plus, the top part of the Kakama Nuva is much simpler and easier to remove-- just remove the spikes (or not if you're dealing with that beautiful Rockoh version) and eyeholes and you have the likeness of the new version. In fact, Nuva similarities are rather common among the Phantoka. Kopaka's mouth area is the same overall shape, and Lewa's mask has a similar mouth shape as well as holes in his mask's forehead and "jets" that really look like expanded versions of the holes already on the Miru Nuva. I don't like the Axalara version much, though-- the visor does a poor job of evoking the spikes the mask had originally. And, having tried to draw an "intermediate form" of Tahu's Hau Nuva, similarities to the Nuva mask have even become evident in it. They're harder to describe, but the two diagonal "steps" between the eyes and the mouth area resemble the corner of the upper cheek pocket and the edge of the mouth, respectively. The Kaukau Nuva has similar similarities, which like those of the Hau Nuva upset my style considerably but don't prove too awkward in the appearance of the actual plastic mask. I haven't gotten a chance to sit down with Onua's mask for long enough for similarities to his old Nuva mask to become clear.

Well i got Onua For my birthday, I think he's the best of all the Mistika. But then again i haven't really seen or have any of the others, so i have to find out. I also got an Extra Vamprah for my birthday so i need to go exchange it for a Mistika, but im not sure which one i should get.

I just kinda noticed this but, okay. The Mistika have silver and the phantoka have grey, but Onua has silver limbs but a grey body, and Pohatu Mistika has a silver inika body, and grey limbs.

But Pohatu Mistika is special, who cares? There is no Pohatu Mistika. The Pohatu that comes with Rockoh does not at this point have a name; it is just a special edition Pohatu figure representing Pohatu adapted to pilot Rockoh. It is not adapted for the swamp, as the term Mistika would indicate.

When I say Pohatu Mistika, I mean the Pohatu released along with the Mistika, which is the Rockoh T3 (T3??) set. Its just easy to say and everyone knows what i mean by it.

It just bugs me that there are those who actually do think that he is a Mistika, and thus I try to discourage its usage on BZP. I reckon, though, that here I don't need to worry so much about people misinterpreting it as on the membership-heavy BZP. So apologies for getting on your case for it.

Okay, were kinda gettin' a bit 'off-topic' don't you think?
Back on topic: He looks a bit odd without the blaster. I like that hes not short and fat(ish) like Pohatu Phantoka.
